How to put on a single fall

If you have short hair and cannot get your hair into a bun, the instructions below will still work... just tie your fall[s] on over the base of your ponytail instead of a bun!!!

Step 1

Put your hair in a pony tail. Make sure you use a thick sturdy elastic band (not the skinny string-like kind.) Make sure you pony tail is tied in tight and firmly.

Step 2

Twist your hair tightly and begin the process of making a bun. Have your open-style bobby pins ready.

Open-style bobby pins are recommended, they can be purchased in the LOX SHOP. Regular bobby pins wont work as well and will become a hassle.

Step 3

When your bun is complete, slide in a few open-style bobby pins around the base of your bun, and in other areas until you feel your bun is secure and wont become loose.

Step 4

Take the elastic band on your fall, put it over your bun, and make sure the entire elastic is at the very base of the bun. Tug your fall forward so the elastic moves under snugly.

Step 5

Flip your fall backwards, evenly over your bun.

(Although mine is not so even ^_^)

Step 6

Take a dread from underneath your fall, and begin to wrap it around and around the very base of your bun. Make sure you tug when wrapping, this will tighten and secure your fall so that in stays in alot better (especially at concerts and clubs when you plan to move around alot).

Step 7

Now for placement! You can fiddle around with how the dreads sit on your head in many ways. Try taking some dreads from both sides in the front of your fall.

Step 8

Take the dreads you were holding on to, and cross them over to the opposite side.

Step 9

Once you have your dreads placed where you want them, it may be necessary to use open-style bobby pins, to secure different dreads down. To prevent them from sliding around or off your bun.

Congrats! Your falls are in and you're ready for action!

How to put on a pair of falls

If you have short hair and cannot get your hair into buns, the instructions below will still work... just tie your falls on over the base of your pigtails instead of buns!!!

Step 1

Put your hair in pig tails. Make sure you use thick sturdy elastic bands (not the skinny string-like kind.) Make sure your pig tails are tied in tight and firm.

Step 2

Twist your hair tightly on each pigtail and begin the process of making buns. Have your open-style bobby pins ready to slide in around the base of your buns, and in other areas until you feel your buns are secure and wont become loose.

Open-style bobby pins are recommended, they can be purchased in the LOX SHOP. Regular bobby pins wont work as well and will become a hassle.

Step 3

Take the elastic band on your fall, put it over the first bun, and make sure the entire elastic is at the very base of the bun. Tug your fall forward so the elastic moves under snugly.

Step 4

Flip your fall evenly over your bun.

Repeat this step 3 and 4 for the second bun.

Step 5

Pick a dread from the the back side of your first fall, preferably one from underneath.

Step 6

"The X-Method"

Pull the dread forward to the opposite side of your head. Pull another dread forward from the second fall and bring that to the opposite side of your head making an X.

Step 7

Take one dread and begin to wrap it around and around the very base of the opposite bun. Make sure you tug when wrapping, this will tighten and secure your fall so that in stays in alot better (especially at concerts and clubs when you plan to move around alot).

Step 8

Repeat step 7 by taking the last dread and wrapping it around the very base of the opposite bun. Remember to wrap tightly but comfortably.

The "X-Method" is now complete, the purpose of this is to anchor falls together, resulting in less stress on the scalp which can lead to headaches. If you are wearing falls for a long period of time the x-method is strongly suggested.

Step 9

Once you have your dreads placed where you want them, it may be necessary to use open-style bobby pins, to secure different dreads down. To prevent them from sliding around or off your buns.

Congrats! Your falls are in and you're ready for action!
